Suryapet (Suriāpet)
Suryapet is a city in the Indian state of Telangana. It is a municipality and the headquarters of its eponymous district. The Government of India announced Suryapet to be developed under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme. Suryapet has been awarded the "Cleanest city" in South India by the Ministry of Urban development in Swachh Survekshan 2017. It is also known as "Gateway of Telangana". It is located about 134 km east of the state capital, Hyderabad and also it is located about 138 km West of Vijayawada.
Previously Suryapet is known as Bhanupuri, which is modernized into the name Suryapet. People also call the town as Suryapeta.

Modern humans arrived on the Indian subcontinent from Africa no later than 55,000 years ago. Their long occupation, initially in varying forms of isolation as hunter-gatherers, has made the region highly diverse, second only to Africa in human genetic diversity.
