Santa Isabel is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population in 2003 was 45,516 and the area is 362.4 km². The elevation is 655 m.
Santa Isabel was named after a Portuguese queen who was declared a saint by the Roman Catholic Church. It was founded in the 18th century, as Brazil was still a colony of Portugal. It is located some 50 miles east of the city of São Paulo, belonging to the Guarulhos macro region,as it is part of the Greater São Paulo region as well.
