Mashonaland East (deutsch Ostmaschonaland) ist eine Provinz im Nordosten Simbabwes. Sie ist 32.230 km² groß und hat 1.344.955 Millionen Einwohner (2012). Marondera ist die Hauptstadt von Mashonaland East.

Die Provinz ist in neun Distrikte unterteilt:

Simbabwe (deutsch üblicherweise [] ausgesprochen; lokale Sprachen und ENS Zimbabwe; übersetzt „Steinhäuser“ in der Sprache der Shona) ist ein Binnenstaat im Südlichen Afrika, der als ehemalige britische Kronkolonie Südrhodesien sowie als Sezessionsterritorium kurzzeitig Rhodesien und Simbabwe-Rhodesien hieß.

Der Name Simbabwe geht auf die heute Groß-Simbabwe genannte Ruinenstätte zurück, die größten vorkolonialen Steinbauten im Südlichen Afrika. Darüber hinaus ist Simbabwe auch für das UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe der Victoria Wasserfälle international bekannt.
